Ijeoma Edom

As a Mental Health Technician at Capella Recovery Center, Ijeoma Edom provides hands-on support that helps patients feel safe, supported, and connected throughout treatment. She assists with daily routines, monitors patient well-being, reinforces treatment goals, and helps patients navigate challenging moments with clear communication and steady support. Ijeoma’s own experiences with mental health influenced her desire to support others facing similar struggles, while growing up around her mother’s work in nursing also helped shape her interest in patient care. She values creating genuine connections with patients and helping them feel seen as individuals, not simply as people receiving care. She finds the work especially rewarding when patients are able to feel comfortable, enjoy moments of relief, and experience genuine connection during treatment.
